Award winning software company hungry to hire

09 June 2005

Exmouth based Digita, the only UK financial software developer to have its products accredited by both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Microsoft Corporation, has made three new appointments this month as part of the company’s plans for strategic growth.

And according to Chairman Roger Thomas, they are looking to add to their 70 strong workforce with more staff of the same calibre from around the region.

The three new software engineers are 32 year-old Archana Bhakare, a Master's graduate in Bioinformatics from the University of Exeter who will specialise in developing software for accounts production; Jon Eccleston, 24 who will join the team specialising in company secretarial software including anti-company identity theft measures; and 30 year-old Vincent Phillips who will specialise in corporate tax software.

Founded in 1986, Digita has built a remarkably close relationship with Microsoft attaining Gold Partner status earlier this year and being the only UK developer to write software on behalf of the giant US corporation. The company has also pioneered a number of accountancy software developments including being the first to put personal and corporation tax forms on screen and the first to introduce electronic filing with the Inland Revenue.

Digita has successfully hired 16 new employees in the last nine months.

Chairman Roger Thomas said:

"We are expanding as the quality of our products increases and this high quality can only be maintained by hiring the right people."

"As a Company we place as much importance on an individual’s personal qualities as we do on their technical skills. All employees within Digita have a very real and direct impact on the end result so it is essential we only employ staff who can add value and bring something extra to the table."

"By adopting this philosophy we can remain one step ahead in the marketplace and push the boundaries of financial technology just that little bit further than all the rest"
