Rethinking The Modern Practice

03 April 2014

In a major keynote presentation at Accountex 2014, the inspirational speaker, Robert Schukai, MBE, global head of mobile technology at Thomson Reuters, will show accountants the future of mobile communication and share with them an innovative look at the modern accountancy practice with the aid of Google Glass.

Robert will be representing the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, providers of the Digita Professional Suite and one of the leading accountancy practice software houses in the UK. He was recently appointed an Ambassador for the London Tech City Initiative, driven by the British Government and the United Kingdom Trade and Investment Group. In the Queen’s New Year Honours list in 2014, he was awarded an MBE for outstanding community service.

With the proliferation of mobile technology and more ways of staying connected than ever before, the days of work-life balance have now become the pressures of work-life blur. More often than not, the first thing we do in the morning and the last thing we do at night is check our email, read a news story, or otherwise engage in activity that relates to our job.

"When you see this blurring of our work-life balance – it’s not a work-life balance, it’s a work-life blur – the kinds of experiences we have in the consumer side can and should naturally transcend over into what we see in the enterprise space."
Robert says.

The session Rethinking the Modern Practice is not to be missed and runs from 11.00 to 11.45 on Thursday 15 May and again at 12.00 to 12.45 on Friday 16May in the Thomson Reuters Technology Theatre.

On Stand A524, Thomson Reuters will demonstrate how the deployment of a combination of traditional and inspirational mobile solutions built for the modern practice can transform productivity and raise customer satisfaction.

Accountants can see how new mobile solutions such as the new Digita Client mobile app and NetClient portals allow accountants to raise the customer service bar and give clients 24/7 access to the accountants’ services from any Internet connection. Clients simply download the Digita Client mobile app and log in to enjoy an ultra-convenient way of on-the-go access to tax returns and financial statements.

Also showcased will be the Digita Virtual Office, a Cloud-based solution that provides accountants in practice with anytime, anywhere remote access to the full Digita Professional Suite of software. The suite comprises software for personal and corporation tax, accounts production, company secretarial and practice management. Digita Virtual Office takes advantage of the convenience of the web without any loss of functionality in its award-winning software. By leveraging Cloud-based solutions in the Digita Virtual Office environment, accountants will be relieved of the time and cost implications of maintaining IT and will be in a stronger position to drive new levels of productivity and competitive advantage.
