Thomson Reuters Launches Digita Client Mobile App for on-the-go Client Communication

07 March 2014

The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters today announced the launch of the Digita Client mobile app (http://www.digita.com/pro/software/net-client/mobile-app.aspx); one of the first mobile apps of its kind for the UK accountancy practice market. The new app is designed to meet the demands of a hyper-connected world and allows accountants to offer their clients a secure portal that give clients 24/7 access to the accountants’ services from any Internet connection. Clients simply download the Digita Client mobile app and log in to enjoy an ultra-convenient way of on-the-go access to tax returns and financial statements. Mobile is one of today’s hottest technologies - mobile and tablet traffic share is set to overtake desktop by July 2014. Over a third of all traffic is now on a handheld mobile or tablet device ( Source: Intelligent Positioning) and more often than not, the first thing we do in the morning and the last thing we do at night is check our email and engage in an activity that relates to our job.

The Digita Client mobile app extends the coverage of the existing Digita online client portals to also operate on iOS® and Android™ smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. Together the Digita Client Mobile App and Digita Online Portal provide an innovative solution that improves a practice’s competitive edge and enables firms to exceed client expectations by providing convenient online access on virtually any device. It enables the sharing of documents between accountants and clients anytime and anywhere and will help to improve productivity.

The Digita Client mobile app is the latest addition to the Digita Professional Suite of software. The app has passed the rigorous security testing required for it to be listed on the Apple, Google App stores and NetClient portals - all hosted by Thomson Reuters.

"The Digita Client mobile app represents a major step forward. It provides greater flexibility for accountancy practices and their clients in accessing information, thereby enhancing client service and relationships. Practices tell us that their clients greatly value being able to access their information on mobile devices."
says Andrew Flanagan, Digita managing director.

Thomson Reuters has a reputation for being at the cutting edge of mobile solutions winning a Technology Innovation Award at the 2013 California Accounting and Business Show.
