Digita Accounts Production gives accountants a best of breed option with integration if needed

LONDON, June 23, 2011—An independent review of Accounts Production software conducted by the IT Faculty of the ICAEW has revealed that Digita Accounts Production is a ‘sound choice for a firm looking for a best of breed solution but still wanting to have the option of moving to a fully integrated suite later.’ The review, which appears in the Chartech Accounts Production Software Guide, goes on to say that: ‘it is suitable for sole practitioners and small firms but has the power and sophistication required by large practices too.'

The guide is designed to help accountants evaluate the various accounts production software solutions on the market at a time when iXBRL compliance is forcing many to review their options. The detailed overview of Digita Accounts Production highlights its strengths as:

  • Working specifically with latest Microsoft Operating systems, SQL Database and .Net platform
  • Template based
  • iXBRL is integrated seamlessly into the software
  • Run as a standalone application or with other Digita applications as part of a suite with a shared practice database
  • Data input is extremely flexible
  • Easy import of data via a CSV file at transaction or trial balance level
  • Innovative approach to prior periods
  • Effective solutions to common problems for example; a posting sheet can be suspended when incomplete
  • Posting sheets can be switched from active to inactive
  • Digita Accounts Production is a relative newcomer to this market - it was launched in 2002 - and is fast gaining market share because of its highly intuitive nature. The review goes on to say that ‘the software behaves as a standard Windows product; navigation, menus and right mouse clicking behave exactly as in Microsoft Office'.

Recently released 'out of the box' integration between Financial Force' Accounting and the Enterprise Resource Planning system SAP means that organisations can create on-premise/on-demand hybrids and financial transactions can be originated in Salesforce.com and FinancialForce.com and posted in SAP. The finance loop is closed for larger enterprises that can thus benefit from the cloud as well as using their in-house ERP.

Digita (www.digita.com) is holding a series of webinars to demonstrate its Accounts Production software to practices. More information can be obtained by phoning 01395 280 218 or by e-mailing Karen.gardner@thomsonreuters.com
