09 April 2010

Exmouth, April 6th 2010 - A next-generation tax compliance system developed by leading accountancy software developer, Digita, has been shortlisted for the one of the most prestigious awards in the tax calendar. The newly launched Digita ‘Tax Exchange’ has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Technological Innovation’ category of the LexisNexis Taxation Awards 2010 which are now in their tenth year and honour those organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the field of taxation.

Digita Tax Exchange is set to revolutionise the collection of data for tax practitioners and accountants making the compliance process faster and more efficient. According to Digita, practices using Tax Exchange will see the time taken to gather client data reduced by as much as 90%, saving as much as 27 minutes per tax return.
The potential for reducing overheads is enormous through the use of the powerful data import and validation engine in Tax Exchange which automates the collection of data from a variety of sources including spreadsheets, scanned documents, banks, brokers, payroll systems and client portals. Unlike solutions that can only format scanned documents for manual data entry, Tax Exchange can bypass manual data entry altogether by providing a simple interface for importing the output from third party intelligent scanning software directly into Digita Personal Tax.
During its 24 year history, Digita has a built a reputation for innovation, pioneering many time-saving and productivity boosting applications that can be used by all sizes of practice. Uniquely positioned in the market, Digita’s broad appeal has resulted in a customer base that includes over 1000 sole practitioners and 7 of the Top 40 firms including KPMG, Baker Tilly, Smith & Williamson and Chantrey Vellacott.

Paul Duffield, Personal Tax Product Manager commented:

"Every member of the team is delighted that Tax Exchange has been shortlisted in the Technological Innovation Category of the LexisNexis Taxation Awards. We were confident that the judges would recognise its potential for driving enormous productivity gains."

Digita has a strong affection for the LexisNexis Taxation Awards having won the award for the Best Tax Software 3 times in their 10 year history: an achievement unmatched by any other software developer. This year’s winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony to be held on the 20th May 2010 at the Hilton, Park Lane in London.
