MD'S UPDATE

This year I have had great pleasure in meeting so many of you during events such as our annual conference, our customer days and our ‘Devon Days’ here in Exmouth. Your number one concern was that we preserve the special qualities that make up Digita, now that we are part of Thomson Reuters.

I thought this would be good opportunity to cover that issue and talk a little about our plans for the future.

Recruitment, investment and access to specialist knowledge and expertise on a global scale are allowing us to plan more effectively for the future. Against a backdrop of difficult market conditions for many firms, we are accelerating our investment to improve our services to you and create a significant new force in the tax and accounting marketplace which is increasingly demanding innovative software to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

The backing and security of Thomson Reuters has ensured that the Digita team remains highly motivated and excited about prospects for the future. In the past 12 months, we have welcomed 27 additional professionals and have five more vacancies to fill this year. Consequently, we have enhanced our team here at Exmouth, opened a new customer centre in central London and retained the Digita quality of our software and service.

Digita has grown by 27% with 1200 new customers, whilst maintaining 98% retention of existing customers. Digita now provides software to three Top 10 Firms and 16 of the Top 50.

We are confident in our prospects but respectful of the challenges we all face this year.

We remain committed to our philosophy of best of breed software, personal service and freedom of choice for all practices whether they are sole practitioners or Top 10 firms, and next month we launch our new Time & Fees application, the first innovation in this product category for over a decade!

The following month we will launch a new Document Management solution that includes the facility to store and retrieve documents in the cloud.

There is so much more we can accomplish and so we will continue to invest and expand Digita for the benefit of all of our customers and I look forward to writing to you again soon with more news.
