HMRC Joins Heavyweight North West Tax Seminar

08 October 2007

The formula for a highly successful series of seminars for accountants in practice and other tax professionals is to be repeated in the North West in November when award-winning financial software developers Digita visit Warrington in partnership with tax advisers Chiltern plc and HM Revenue and Customs.

This unique seminar is designed to brief North West tax professionals on the latest developments relating to income tax self assessment, on-line filing, personal tax planning and the impact of the Carter recommendations.

Delegates to the half day briefing will also have the opportunity of remaining to meet representatives from Chiltern, Digita and HMRC on a one-to-one basis at an informal afternoon session.

Event organiser Karen Green of Digita said:

"We have been prompted to repeat this seminar because of the huge success of the original briefings in London. Delegates there felt they were being given a real insight to the latest tax issues from three different perspectives - all highly significant and relevant to tax practitioners.

"The HM Revenue and Customs speakers will focus on Lord Carter's recommendations, which the government has accepted, aimed at ensuring that all businesses and IT literate individuals are filing their returns online by 2012.

"Digita will demonstrate how to optimise use of internet filing and other electronic services to cut administration costs for practitioners, save them valuable time, reduce risks and increase profitability.

"Chiltern will address individual Self-Assessment returns and the levels of disclosure required and steps to protect clients from future discovery assessments."

The seminar will take place on Thursday 1 November 2007 at The Park Royal, Warrington. There are a few places remaining at a cost of £49 plus VAT including lunch. Afternoon one-to-one sessions are free of charge to delegates. Anyone interested can contact Zoe Bishop on 01395 270 311 or register on-line at http://www.digita.com/taxplanning07
