Software manager joins ICAEW IT Faculty Committee

11 May 2006

A Product Manager with software developer Digita has been elected to the IT Faculty Committee of the ICAEW.

27 year-old Simon Witkiss, who is also a Chartered Accountant, is responsible for Digita’s award-winning and ICAEW-accredited accounts production software, Digita Accounts Pro. He took his place on the Committee on May 11th.

Simon said:

"It’s an honour to be elected to the IT faculty and to be able to make a real contribution to helping my fellow chartered accountants make the best possible use of IT."

"As the profession becomes increasingly beset by compliance issues, the ICAEW IT Faculty has a major role in representing and protecting practitioners’ interests. I am in the unusual position of being a software developer as well as a chartered accountant, so I believe I can bring a very useful perspective to the work undertaken by the IT Faculty."

Jonathan Teller, Chairman of the IT Faculty said:

"I am delighted that the IT Faculty continues to attract members of the highest quality. I greatly look forward to working with Simon in the coming year."

Simon Hurst, Chairman of the Faculty’s Software Suppliers’ Group added:

"Cooperating with software suppliers provides a positive platform going forward and we are delighted that someone, like Simon, is prepared to sacrifice a normal life in order to contribute to the faculty in this way."
