Case Study - Deans Accountants
Deans Accountants is a two partner firm with 12 staff based in Hawick in the Scottish Borders and offering accounting, taxation and business advice to a wide range of sole traders, partnerships and incorporated businesses.
The firm acquired Digita Company Secretarial some seven years ago and has since invested in the entire professional suite of Digita Products. Deans also became one of the first practices to acquire Digita FileCabinet.
Partner David Campbell has been very impressed with FileCabinet’s functionality and its potential going forward.
He said: “Last year, I downloaded a demonstration of FileCabinet from Thomson Reuter’s US website and was impressed with what I saw. As a result, I was very keen to see how the new product would apply to our requirements and integrate with other Digita products.
“As a document management system FileCabinet is excellent, exceeding our expectations by a long way. We are delighted with its flexibility and its ability to store, retrieve, and edit documents.
“The integration with other applications like Practice Management and Corporation Tax is seamless, simple to operate and exceptionally fast.
“The speed of display and switching between documents is very noticeable and the powerful scanning facility enabled us to reduce a pile of filing in no time at all. The email function is also integrated with the rest of the software – it’s easy to find the information you want and fire it off as well as filing incoming client emails in the right place ready for instant recall.
“The support and training has been excellent but, with Digita’s excellent track record in this regard, this didn’t come as a surprise.
“FileCabinet is already saving time and money and is adding value to our client relationships. We are eagerly anticipating acquiring the Client Portal (Digita NetClient) enabling us to share and store discreet information with our clients and this will take these relationships to yet another level.”
