Gibbons & Company is an 11 partner Cumbria based practice operating from three offices in Workington, Maryport and Cockermouth. The firm employs around 65 staff and has a wide client base ranging from sole traders to partnerships, owner managed business, farms and other SMEs.
The firm purchased Digita Accounts Production and Contact Manager in September 2007 and followed by installing the full taxation suite of products after the January 2008 filing deadline.
Partner Russell Thwaites said:
“We were operating with a number of different databases – some on Excel, some on Access and some on paper. This was totally impractical and we recognised that we needed a central hub so invited several potential suppliers to come and talk to us.
“We had become dissatisfied with our software suppliers who were not providing the integration solutions or the level of customer support we needed (on one occasion we solved a problem ourselves and they asked us how to do it!).
“We had been aware of Digita for some time and were subsequently very impressed with the integration capability of the software. It was just what we required, a functional product that would create efficiencies at a cost-competitive price. It looked to be the better product all round.
“The reporting function is superb and there is no question that we have saved time and money and that this will filter through to next year as more data is loaded and we maximise utilisation.”
