Keynote speech discusses the implications of Blockchain technology on accountancy

Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading provider of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, will share its expert insights into emerging technologies at this year’s Accountex.

Richard Collin, head of mobile application development at Thomson Reuters will deliver his keynote speech ‘What is Blockchain?’ on Thursday 12 May, at 1pm. Delegates can hear how this new technology is set to revolutionise the tax and accounting professions by booking their place in the Accountex Keynote Theatre.

Using over 20 years’ software product development to help bridge the gap between technology and business, Richards comments: “Blockchain technology is a distributed ledger providing real-time insight into asset ownership in the Bitcoin market. According to a recent report, Blockchain has the capability of redefining the relationship between the Government and its citizens in terms of taxation, data sharing and transparency.

“My presentation will discuss the implications for the accountancy profession, what problems Blockchain is solving, the current challenges and the movement of this new technology.”
