Both resident and non-resident taxpayers pay tax at the rate of 19.5% on the first part of their income and then 33%.

The tax year end is 31 March.

Sales tax is currently at 12.5%.

Most capital gains are not taxable.

Other taxes include gift duty (rates from 0% to 25% on the donation of property), fringe benefit tax (e.g. on company cars, payable by the employer, currently at 49%) and the accident rehabilitation and compensation levy (based on the employees circumstances).
