Essential update for Digita Company Secretarial 7.2

Applies to: Digita Company Secretarial versions 7.2.0 (build 757) and 7.2.1 (build 759).

This update resolves the following issues:

  • Companies with an accounting reference date of 29th February were being reported in the Public Record Checker as having an accounting reference data of 1st February.

    Affects: Those client companies that adopted the end of February as their accounting reference date in relation to an accounting period that ended in a leap-year.

This update provides the following new functionality:

  • Digita Company Secretarial can now be configured so that all users use the same set of document templates, these being stored in a central network location.

    Background: By default, document templates from the local machine are used. This can make it awkward in a multi-user environment to make global template changes as the changes need to be replicated on each user's machine separately. In version 7.2.2 Digita Company Secretarial can now be configured so that templates from a central location are used. If you operate a multi-user installation of Digita Company Secretarial and would prefer to use centrally shared document templates please install this update and then contact Digita technical support for instructions on how to use central document templates. Until such time as you make the switch Digita Company secretarial will continue to work with the existing local templates.

Please ensure you backup your database using the Digita Database Backup tool before applying this update.

  • For standalone installations: download and run the update on the workstation where Digita Company Secretarial Pro 7.2.0 or 7.2.1 is installed.
  • For network server and peer-to-peer installations: download and apply the update on the machine acting as the server. Once the server has been upgraded, the Auto-node Update process will automatically apply the update to each workstation (node) the next time the user logs in to Digita Company Secretarial.
