Software Satisfaction Awards 2007 - nominees announced
The nominations for the UK's most comprehensive user-driven awards scheme for business software were revealed this week.
Nearly 2,000 people cast their votes for the 2007 Software Satisfaction Awards, which cover products in 19 business software categories ranging from accounts and customer relationship management packages to payroll and learning management programs.
The annual awards scheme is run in association with the Business Application Software Developers Association (BASDA) by Sift Media, which operates a portfolio of professional online communities including AccountingWEB, MyCustomer.com, HR Zone, TrainingZone, Finance Week, UK Business Forums and BusinessZone.
The Software Satisfaction Awards are based on the views of genuine users of business applications, not those of a judging panel. As a result, the awards are a valuable guide to any business considering its software options. The winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place on Tuesday 9 October at The Brewery in London, EC1 and the full results will be published in the 2007 Software Satisfaction Annual - sure to become an indispensable guide for business software buyers.
Drawn from such a broad sample of UK businesses, the nominations reflect the diversity of systems on offer. Small, start-up companies such as Kashflow and specialists like Drummohr, Rugged Logic, VT and E2Train have won equal billing with big international brands such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Sage and Infor.
Two categories also acknowledge the growing role of software as a service (SaaS) providers, who deliver their applications on a subscription basis over the web. In addition to the business application awards, there is a prize for the software reseller of the year as well as BASDA's Theo van Dort prize, awarded to the person who has done the most to promote collaboration in the software industry.
