Job summary:
To carry out functional and regression testing of Tax and Accounting Software, ensuring products perform in line with functional design specifications as well as complying with industry standards and computational correctness. Also required to produce supporting test documentation and test cases.
Main duties and responsibilities
Technical:
- Required to carry out testing of Digita Software products, ensuring compliance with Tax legislation and Accounting standards and legislation. Directly liaise with the development and design teams to ensure a thorough understanding of features being tested.
- Identify bugs within software and take necessary steps for resolution.
- Produce relevant test documentation including Release documentation, test cases and test plans.
- Attend design reviews and provide technical input on feature development.
- Ensure product deadlines are achieved in line with business requirements.
- Ensure software performs in line with requirements outlined in functional and design specifications prior to release.
Personal Development:
- Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant Tax legislation and Accounting standards and legislation. Take responsibility and show initiative in areas of own professional development and learning.
- Be prepared to act as a mentor to other employees within the organisation and impart relevant knowledge.
Quality:
- Help to establish a quality driven working philosophy consistent with the aims and objectives of the organisation.
- Identify possible areas of test improvement.
Risk:
- Carry out necessary risk assessments when producing test plans.
- Promote and establish a healthy and safe working environment, ensuring that health and safety policies are complied with.
- Identify potential hazards in the work environment that have the potential to create a risk to other employees or visitors to the organisation.
Additional information:
- The post-holder will work with minimal supervision and may be expected to deal with other duties appropriate to level and post.
- The ideal candidate will be currently working in an accountancy practice but looking to move into an IT environment.
