Skills shortage slows growth

TAX and accounting software developer Digita is claiming that the shortage of skilled and experienced software engineers is slowing the company's plans for rapid growth.

The award-winning Exmouth-based business became part of the multi-national Thomson Reuters plc earlier this year, unveiling plans for growth and investment in new product development, but has yet to find enough experienced software developers to support the company's ambitions.

Digita managing director Jerry Rihll said: "To achieve further growth through product development we need more locally and regionally based engineers with the right skill sets and experience and so we are redoubling our efforts to attract them."

To attract potential employees, Digita is running an in-house 'Job Fayre' to enable candidates to learn more about the business.
